A Study On Liu Tongmin's Teaching Art Of Erhu

Liu Tongmin, coming from Kaifeng, Henan, is a member of Chinese Musicians Association, a member of China Nationalities Orchestra Society, a famous Erhu performer, and a music educator. He achieves a fully artistic accomplishment, and has a deep foundation in sinology as well as painting. Through the interviews, the present writer obtains the first-hand materials. Moreover, according to the retrospect of his artistic development, this article makes a summarization and research on his unique ideas formed in the forty years'teaching process.This thesis falls into four chapters. By utilizing interviews, documents, and analysis, this paper conducts a tentative study of Liu Tongmin's artistic ideas, his teaching theories and practice from many perspectives.Chapter one focuses on Liu Tongmin's relationship with art. Through many interviews and communication with him, the present writer understands that as a child he is influenced by his family surroundings and his ancestors, which helps him to cultivate outstanding sense of music as well as sense of beauty. The professional training in school together with the years of working in a farm affects his unique artistic style and his views towards teaching.Chapter two deals with Liu Tongmin's teaching ideas formed in his teaching activity. Meanwhile, the approaches to realize the sublimation are discussed.Chapter three is to study and analyze Mr. Liu Tongmin's solutions to the technological problems when he teaches students about Erfu.
