The patterns of children are the important decorative designs of porcelain in Song and Jin dynasties. There were a great many kilns from north to south in China in Song and Jin periods, and quite a few kilns had used the designs of children as porcelain decoration. According to the analysis of the content of the decorative design and the composition of the decoration design, the writer analyses their artistic features and causes of the patterns of children of the porcelain kilns mentioned above in those times. In the analysis of the causes, the writer analyses the society of the political and economic factors, aesthetic fashion and porcelain technology, and also compares them with the patterns of children on the gold and silver works, bronze mirrors, paintings and textiles of the same period in history, and further analyses other art forms influence them.
