Marked hypothesis compound sentence which could express assumption relation is a common phenomenon in both Chinese and English languages. About the order between the clause form and main clause form in marked hypothesis compound sentences, previous studies rarely involved. In this paper, a statistical analysis will be done about marked hypothesis compound sentences in Chinese and English, and on the basis of reference other scholars'long-term research, using comparative linguistics theory and method, marked hypothesis compound sentences in both Chinese and English will be described in more detail. Through the analysis and comparison of the constraints of mandatory order of the clauses, we are looking for the differences and the similarities of the order of marked hypothesis compound sentences in both Chinese and English language, by seeing from the cognitive perspective; we also try to reveal the deep reason of the differences and the similarities.Paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter mainly defines the scope of this study and generalizes the previous studies and current situations. The second chapter is a description of mandatory order and replaceable order of marked hypothesis compound sentences in both Chinese and English, and a statistical analysis and comparison is done about clause order types of marked hypothesis compound sentences in Chinese and English. The third chapter is the analysis and comparison of the constraints of mandatory order of the clauses, there are some similarities and differences between them. The fourth chapter compares the constraints of clause order of hypothesis relation markers from three angles. The fifth chapter is an analysis and comparison of the clause order. Finally, the main points of the text are summarized in a conclusion behind the text.
