Task-based Language Teaching Approach is an important language teaching theory in the 1980s. There are a certain researches and applications in foreign language teaching and the teaching Chinese as a foreign language, but less in Short-term Chinese training. Because of its characteristics of short time and high speed, Short-term Chinese training is attracting more and more learners. Exploring the teaching methods of short-term Chinese training has become a top priority. In this context, this paper discusses the application of Task-based Language Teaching approach in the short-term Chinese training.Based on the rich theories of Task-based Language Teaching Approach, including the connotation of task-based teaching method, its theoretical basis and advantages, this paper analyzes the feasibility of applying the Task-based Language Teaching Approach in short-term Chinese training from three aspects:Task-based Language Teaching Approach and students, Task-based Language Teaching Approach and teachers, and Task-based Language Teaching Approach's limitations. According to the connotation of the task, the paper discusses the gist and principle of task design in short-term Chinese training, and puts forward to Short-term Chinese training teaching mode in the basis of the framework of Willis's task-based teaching. Using the Task-based Language Teaching Approach in Short-term Chinese training teaching, we need to note the following points:Task design should fully consider the short time, and combine students' learning need to design task. Make full use of the student's extracurricular time. Advocate individual instruction, and teach students according to their aptitude in order to improve the teaching efficiency. In short, Short-term Chinese training in the implementation of the task-based teaching needs further improvement and it needs the common effort of all the frontline teachers.
