Study Of Affecting Factors Of Suicide Ideation For Students In Dalian University

Background: Every year there are some university students dying of committing suicides in campus in china. The incidence of college student suicide has an increasing tendency in recent years. It is an irreparable loss not only for the nation and society but also for the families themselves. Therefore, it is of important significance to study college student suicide ideations and their affecting factors, to find the high-risk group of suicide ideation, and then take them as early signals of suicide to intervene timely so as to reduce the suicide rate among university students. Many researchers have studied in this field, but the results still have differences because of different research tools and methods, as well as the group of people in different region.Objective: To investigate the positive rate of suicide ideation among Dalian university students and to evaluate the relationship between intensity of suicide ideation and suicide attitude, life event, personality characteristics, suicidal behavior, values etc.Methods: By using questionnaires with multistage stratified random cluster sampling method, 726 valid questionnaires of 800 were backed from the university students in 4 universities in Dalian city. The data were analyzed with SPSS 10.0 statistical software. Statistical test use t, F andχ2 test for single-factor analysis, and Logistic regression for multi-element analysis are used.Results: Scale for Suicide Ideation (SSI) amendment : We revised SSI. With the revised SSI forms, the total coincidence rate was increased 4.41%, indicating the effect of the revised SSI was better than that of the previous one.1.
