When the People's Republic of China (P.R.C.) was founded in 1949, the changes occurred in the film industry were as fierce as those in other fields. The privately owned film companies were in hot water of consensus and surviving. The private ownership, which once dominated the whole film industry, now was regarded as rubbish, and it should be cleared away into the dust. The privately owned film companies could not polish apple for people any more from the management mode, themes selection, narration habits and even aesthetic tropism. Accordingly the most radical film system reconstruction took place and then overspread to the whole field. The private film ownership, which has lasted for 48 years, died away only in 2 or 3 years. So we couldn't help thinking of the fact that it is hard to construct one thing, while easy to destroy it. The harvest of those years can be seen as lesson now.Foreword of this thesis keeps a board-viewpoints eye on theprivately owned film industry of P.R.C. and makes a keynote of the whole statement for fear that it will be in the abuses of viewpoint submerged by the historical materials.The text mostly introduces the process of the privately owned studios' dying away. It contains for the subscribe of the studios' struggle at first. After getting the support from the government them recovered temporarily. But through some vigorous political movements they experienced a rapidly decline. In the text, "Wen Hua" -the most outstanding privately owned film company is particularly described. Much hard work and cautions and conscientious in this field is also described in case that the dust would cover all including the figure. In addition, the thesis includes some talks on publish industry, screen industry and equipment industry. A lot of reference materials are collected together and made into lists so the research perfect and easy to help consult.
