| With increasingly fierce competition of Chinese Privately-owned Enterprises,the problem of their employees’ work-associated pressure has become noteworthily serious,and even an important social issue in various countries around the word.Work-associated pressure has become a concern in the fields of human resource management,applied psychology and organization behavioral study.Based on the survey of work-associated pressure of employees in Chinese Privately-owned Enterprises,this paper aims to explore the possibility of employing the technique of group psychological counseling to adjust the level of work-associated pressure of employees to a reasonable state in order to achieve the goal of ‘win-win’ between employees’ physical and mental health and organizational performance.First of all,based on constructing the theoretical dimension of the work-associated pressure of employees in Chinese Privately-owned Enterprises,this study has preliminarily compiled the “work-associated pressure scale for employees in privately-owned enterprises” and optimized it with standardization.Secondly,the author surveyed the current state and characteristics of work-associated pressure in privately-owned enterprises and examined differences in various demographic variables.Thirdly,a training group psychological counseling program that regulates the level of work-associated was designed and its timeliness and subsequent effect were evaluated.Finally,qualitative research was conducted using personal in-depth interviews and focused group interviews.The findings are as follows:(1)The “working-associated pressure scale for employees in privately-owned enterprises” includes five dimensions: physical and mental pressure,role pressure,interpersonal pressure,competitive pressure and family-associated pressure.The scale’s confirmatory factors analysis structure model fits well and the scale has high reliability and validity.(2)The working-associated pressure of employees in privately-owned enterprises is above the average level.There id is no significant difference in work-associated pressure in terms of gander,age and education,but there are significant differences in demographic variables such as working years,marital status,income status and job status.(3)This study draws on the concepts and techniques of mindfulness therapy and narrative therapy to design and implement a training group counselling program that regulates the level of work-associated pressure.This program can directly and effectively help group members adjust the level of work-associated pressure and its effect is timely and sustainable.(4)The results of the interview study effectively account for and complement the quantitative research results.Due to the situational and interactive characteristics of group counselling,the stages achieved,progress and improvement that the subjects made vary. |
