The researches on women literature and on the literary state between 1930's and 1940's have made a great progress, and at the same time, many new problems and new ways to investigate XiaoHong have appeared. There are also different ideas about the theme of her works and the relation of her novels written at different time. Among them, the research of the relation between 'Life and Death Field'and 'the Legendary of Hulan River'is the most important, because they are Xiaohong's two representative works in different period. Based on the text of 'Life and Death Field', this article will notice Xiaohong's contradictory state in handling text and pay enough attention to the textual rupture of this novel in order to summarize her nihilistic tendency revealed in her early works. Nihilism was also embodied in Mr.LuXun's works, who was worshiped by XiaoHong throughout her life. As a result, research on LuXun's nihilistic thought will be an important reference to the same research on her. During the process of comparison, this article will try to discuss the difference lying behind their resemblance. Both Luxun and Xiaohong touched the desolation of human's living state and the desperation of human's nature. However, Luxun was in the state of an enlightener who struggled between the tradition and the revolution, while Xiaohong's constant attention to living issues led to her disappointment to human's life and death. This is the difference between the nihilism of Luxun's and Xiaohong's. It is a kind of positive factor that can rescue nihility, and to Xiaohong, the factor was to pursue the memory of the childhood, but this hopeless memory of childhood was destined to its own nihility. The writer expressed her thought by her novels. The art technique of 'the Legendary of Hulan River', which highly reflected her nihilistic thought, was worthy of being analyzed carefully. Published in 1934, 'Life and Death Field 'was the outcome of both Xiaohong'unfortunate experience in early days and communistic thought. XiaoHong had been influenced by Luxun directly and deeply, but she deviated from this influence step by step. After analyzing the nihility in Luxun's novels, I think that LuXun and XiaoHong resembled each other the most in the modern literature history. But nihility in Luxun'novels was different from Xiaohong'. The struggle between the tradition and the enlightenment caused Luxun's inner nervous relation, while XiaoHong's narration about death, life and love was penetrated with deep desperation. The second part: Enhancement of Nihility and Way to Rescue 'Legendary of Hulan River'was the recollection of XiaoHong's childhood life, which was created under the situation of Japan's aggression and her illness. This novel, filled with nihilistic and sentimental desperation, had a unified style. In this novel, Xiaohong was continuously looking for the way to rescue nihility.
