With the gradual status improvement of music appreciation pedagogy, the study concerning theories of music appreciation teaching grows too. Most studies today take an educational and psychological approach for music appreciation pedagogy, while studies reviewing music appreciation pedagogy with an aesthetics point of view are not commonly found. Aesthetics is a whole new angle in music appreciation teaching. In this dissertation, the author tries to review music appreciation pedagogy from an aesthetics point of view in which two main genres are brought up: Hermeneutics aesthetics and acceptive aesthetics. By illustrating different genres' influence and revelation, the author hopes to improve music appreciation education reform and development. The main areas covered by this dissertation are as follow:1. Introduction. In this section there are mainly two topics. The first is the status music appreciation pedagogy enjoys and the function it serves, as well as its current status quo. The second is the illustration as to why an aesthetics point of view is a totally new research angle in music appreciation pedagogy.2. The first chapter: The content of music——the firstquestion to be answered in music appreciation pedagogy. In this chapter, the author tries to discuss music content in heteronomous aesthetics and autonomic aesthetics, as well as music content in music appreciation pedagogy.3. The second chapter: Hermeneutics aesthetics and its revelation in music appreciation pedagogy.
