Lexeme-standard has been the main force in Chinese teaching as a foreign language in the past several ten years. And the ways of vocabulary teaching are just copied from western linguistic lexeme-standard theory ignoring the characteristics of Chinese vocabulary, which causes foreign students can't see the special rules of Chinese vocabulary, and makes it difficult for them to remember the words. We think they can master Chinese vocabulary better and faster only when they master the characteristics and rules of Chinese language.In Chinese language, you can create new words with the old ones and catagorify the groups. And the Chinese have the ability of making new words with the old ones and understand the new words by studying the old. So what effect of the morpheme meaning on the acquisition of Chinese lexical meaning as a second language can the foreign students have after they have learned Chinese language for a year? We have the following findings:1) Some students can analyze the morpheme-formation of Chinese vocabulary consciously, understand the characteristics of Chinese word-building. Some excellent students not only have a good understanding of the ways and characteristics of acceptation-combination, but also can enlarge their vocabulary by drawing inferences about other cases from one instance and comprehending by analogy.2) Though students can understand, analyze and infer the lexical meaning by many ways, there do exist some factors which affect them in inferring the lexical meaning by the morphemes, such as the inner-construction of compound words, the relationship between the lexical meaning and the morphemes for word-building.We claim that the lexical teaching should be put in the proper position, Chinese should be taught as a foreign language according to its own characteristics. And bring forward some concrete advice on lexical teaching and test-book editing .
