As a social person, moral plays a very important role in his life, while the construction of a person's moral system get mainly from his home education and school education. Therefore, moral education is an important task of the whole social quality-oriented education. Correct moral methods are important insurance to get good and effective result. At present, our country has carried on moral educational work among teenagers, and has already achieved great success. But the methodology problem of moral education hasn't been studied perfectly and systematically. Moreover, the existing and advanced moral methods which mankind has possessed haven't been used systematically to solve the problem of teenagers' moral education well. Therefore, drawing lessons from western moral methodology has very important meaning to improve the result of minor's moral, finish the moral task better and promote citizens' ethical level.This paper is divided into four parts on the whole: The first part holds the generality of modern western moral methodology by summarizing its theoretical foundation; The second part carries on the research of modern western representatives' moral methodology; The third part uses Marxism philosophy methodology and modern ideology and politics pedagogy principle and method for guidance to appraise the progressive meaning and limitation of modern western moral methodology. The paper thinks that the thoughts of humanism and naturalism in modern western moral methodology adapt to people's development, and the emphasizing of practice in moral education has progressive meanings. However, because of the limitations of their era and class, their thoughts must demonstrate many defects. The fourth part points out the reference meaning and influence of modern western moral methodology on modern China. And through analyzing the impact on Chinese moral educators and moral activities progressively, this part puts forward the significant realistic question: That is how China's moral education should draw lessons from the west and form Chinese characteristic moral theory.The paper is designed to carry on a beneficial exploration on methodology, so it has certain realistic directive significance to our country's moral education.
