Li Zhi is a quite disputed historian in the Ming Dynasty. His historiography with greatconcentration in old age, writes Cang Shu and Xu Cang Shu, talks about the rise and fall,comments personages and establishs one's own system. His historiography thought has criticismto the past historiography thought, inherit and develop, take the course of its own on thehistory circle of later stage of Ming Dynasty. The value of two history records of his does notlie in its historical data, work of the history before not examining and correcting either, Butauthor dares to break history circle "all until Confucius does not for right and wrong ", by "giving Li Zhuo Wu the right and wrong alone " as the evaluation criterion, according to theconcrete account of the history, makes a concrete analysis, sends out the extraordinary orquite outstanding historical comment. Among them many excellent theories are commented,provoking, influence is far-reaching. On his appraisal of historian figures, there have beenmany papers and works which inquired into different aspects of them. But as a whole,scholars emphasized more on the side of heretics, in another word, it was to sayanti-traditional and enlightening. Though this is really an important angle, it seems to beone-sided as for the study of such a historian like Li Zhi, whose lives in social thoughtheterogeneous and transition ideas. There have three parts:Firstly, through personality,psychology, academic purport to announce Li Zhi, expound the fact overbearing individualcharacter of him to value inherent influence of personage;Secondly, in the course of historicalpersonage of his appraisal , show the unique place that his history comments;Lastly, briefcomment whom Li Zhi contains in appraising the Enlightenment, the affairs-managingpurpose and imitation, hoping to find further understand and hold that Li Zhi's historicalcriticism the thought.
