With China's adoption of opening-up policy and entry into WTO, economic activities become increasingly frequent. To make a first debut in the world market, Chinese enterprises are supposed to equip themselves with an English corporate profile to make a self-introduction.The author of this thesis takes German functionalism as her theoretical basis. Sixty authentic and reliable samples of corporate profiles are downloaded from the companies' website, constituting a small corpus for the analysis of the general features of the text genre and comparing the differences in culture, style and discourse pattern in the Chinese and English texts. Quite a number of common translation problems and errors are spotted in the translated texts ,and in the enlightenment of the Skopostheorie, the author puts forward suggestions to tackle the common difficulties in the process of translation.Meanwhile, the author concludes although the Chinese companies have had a bilingual company introduction, they ignore the translation's poor quality and the negative influence brought by on the corporate image. Therefore, both the attitudes and the translator's competence should be improved.
