A Research To High Frequency Words Of Expliantory In The Analytical Dictionary Of Chinese Characters 《说文解字》

In recent years, the academic world has more and more interests in the research of high frequency words in Chinese. But this research as well as the whole research of the history of Chinese laguage still need improving.High frequency words dated, in a specific book and classified need further study. The high frequency words in Chinese is an organic constituent of Chinese basic glossary, and the scope of which is broader than that of the basic glossary. They have the same main characteristics as the basic glossary does.In addition, they can reflect the true outlook of the language in a society to some degree and show signs of the evolvement of language. Therefore, having summarized and inherited the results of the preceding and contemporary research ,this paper will take The Analytical Dictionary of Chinese Characters as our object of study,and do an over-all analysis on the inner system of the glossory and the polysemous situatioan and its change in a synchronic angle. It's the foundational work for the research on history of Chinese language.At present the academic world does not have the generally used academic term for the high frequency words.In my opioin,the high frequency words in the explanatory notes of The Analytical Dictionary of Chinese Characters have two meanings as an academic term. firstly,they are explain words. Their function is to explain other words.they have relatively higher frequency.Their distributions scope are relatively broader. In the synchronic level, they are commonly used and stable. Secondly,they are an opposite concept to difficult words. from the standpoint ofexegetics, it is unnecessary and has hardly any value to explain them. But they are one part of the words which conforms to the people's custom.This paper has studied the basic situation of the high frequency words in the explaintory notes of The Analytical Dictionary of Chinese Characters and the examples. We pay spacial attention to the internal system of word-construction。In the same time, we choose certain groups of commonly used nons,verb, and adjectives to do dynamic analysis. Through these analysis and study in the synchronic level, we try to find the development of the words and its rules of change.Before doing this research, we've devided the high frequency words in the explaintory notes of The Analytical Dictionary of Chinese Characters into nouns, verbs, and adjectives. Each meaning of the words take Wang Li's "Ancient Chinese Dictionary" as a standard. We have made a quite careful induction, and contrast analysis according to some related books such as the books of exegetics,phonology and modern lexicology. The high frequency words in the explanatory notes of The Analytical Dictionary of Chinese Characters are studyed on this fundition.We aim to explain the development of words and their meanings, and its relationship with the development the society in that period.We also studyed the internal and external reasons to that development and summurize features of words development in East Han Dynasty. We explore rules of development of Chinese words to provide a valuable reference to those who carry on the study of the history of Chinese language.
