Procrastination refers to the purposeful postponement of an individual in starting or completing an explicit or implicit activity.Academic delay will lead to the failure of students to complete learning tasks within the prescribed time,which will have a negative mpact on students' academic perfor:mance and physical and mental health.High school is an important stage of learning in life,high school students will face great pressure of learning every day,so it is particularly important to prevent and stay away from academic delay.Taking high school students as the research object,this paper mainly studies academic procrastination,and specifically analyzes the influence of various dimensions of personality traits and coping styles on academic procrastination,so as to provide theoretical support and data reference for high school students' learning and education.In this study,432 students of a high school in yanji city were investigated using the middle school students' academic procrastination scale,the middle school students five-factor personality scale and the middle school students' coping style scale to explore the relationship between high school students' personality traits,coping style and academic procrastination.The following conclusions were drawn:1.High school students' academic procrastination scores are successively from high to low in terms of delayed remedy,delayed completion,delayed summary and delayed plan.The total score of high school students' academic delay is significantly different in gender,grade and achievement level.2.High school students personality traits in each dimension scores from high to low order agreeableness,cautious,emotionality,extraversion,openness.There are significant differences in high school students' personality traits.3.High school students to respond to each dimension scores from high to low in turn is patience,problem solving,retreat for help,to vent,fantasy.Coping styles vary significantly in grades and grades.4.Personality traits and coping style were significantly correlated with academic procrastination on the whole.Personality traits and coping style could predict academic procrastination.5.Coping style plays an intermediary role between personality traits and academic procrastination.According to the conclusions,the following Suggestions are made:1.Pay attention to the individual differences of high school students and adopt appropriate methods to alleviate academic delay.2.Make the personality development plan for senior high school students in different levels to cultivate a sound personality.3.Improve high school students' self-cognition and self-evaluation,and guide them to adopt positive coping methods to solve problems.4.Reduce academic procrastination based on the mediating effect of coping style between personality traits and academic procrastination.
