The era of knowledge economy have lay a whole new claim to the goal of training talented person in University. In 21st century, Innovation Education has led the trends and direction of educational reform in the whole world. The question of how to apply innovation education to practice has became a brand new task of all educational workers.Basic course education is the pivot in any subject education included graphic design education. Training creative thinking ability and high professional qualification is the central task of basic course in graphic design. This article has its eyes on the basic course teaching in graphic design. It from perspectives of innovation education, analyzed the structure of basic course in graphic design of the world. This opinion think about that we should not only teach basic skills and knowledge to students in basic course stage, but also should training student's creative thinking ability in this stage. Article also from the perspectives of how to training a qualified graphic designer, discussed the teaching process of basic course. It made a referential and operational conclusion. The measures take to Innovation education of Basic Course in graphic design is targeted on development personnel, by way of "to release" and "to receive", routed to "solve problem".This article mainly adopted a step-type analytical method. It guided by new educational method which is an important part of innovation theory, applied teaching process of basic course in planar design to practice. Article described Innovation education of Basic Course in graphic design in detail that should expressed in "people foremost". It put a high premium on has a comprehensive training and development of "Eye" "Hand" and "Heart". So the goal of development personnel will be realized. In the practical teaching process, based on this goal, we should take teaching measures of "to release" and "to receive", realized the goal of training student's productive thinking ability and their high professional qualification routed to "solve problem". The method of "to release" and "to receive" realized training student's productive thinking ability and their high professional qualification. The route of "solve problem" structured a freely & operable environment for students to do homework.
