The Transformation Of Basic Design Education In China In The 1980s And 1990s

By sorting and analyzing the historical data,which includes the researching of three times Pattern teaching conference,Graphic、Color and Three-Dimensional Composition and lot of schools that is Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts,Central Academy of Fine Arts,China Academy of Arts,Nanjing University of the Arts and Academy of Arts & Design,Tsinghua University,this paper tries to show and reflect the history of Design foundation education course`s changing during the 1980 s and 1990 s.By combing and comparing the contents of teaching reform in various and universities,this paper summarizes the three ways of design basic teaching reformed in the 1980 s and 1990s: innovation,integration and tradition.Through the analysis of the origin and flow of the Composition,the author explained that the Graphic 、 Color and Three-Dimensional Composition didn`t spring from Bauhaus,and it is considered that the Graphic、Color and Three-Dimensional Composition are the study of the multiple possibilities of abstract forms.The research point line surface organizes the rule,and the pattern stresses the formal beauty the rule has the certain similarity.At last,the author puts forward that the essence of design foundation lies in cultivating students’ thinking,expression,observation and imagination.
