Along with the intercross of the linguistic area and the psychology area, the language study research has been expanded from vocabulary knowledge itself to the indication of knowledge in people's mind. Researchers, through the investigation on the learning, memorizing and extracting process of vocabulary, are attempting to find an effective means of vocabulary teaching. Among them, the research on vocabulary representation has been carried out.The teaching of vocabulary is an important step in the teaching of Chinese as the second language. Therefore, representing vocabulary appropriately can make the learning much easier.Based on the accomplishments in the field of English teaching, the differences of acquisition under three ways of vocabulary representation, description representation way, sensation representation way and game representation way, have been tested through experiments during the representation of Noun, verb and adjective vocabulary. Through the analysis of the data from the experiment and then the comparison of three representations, the thesis hopes that the results can serve as a reference for the appropriate representation of vocabulary in teaching Chinese as a second language.In the experiment, 20 beginners learning Chinese have been tested and valid data have been collected. From the analysis of the data, it can be concluded that: For children Chinese vocabulary teaching, the sensation representation way and the game representation way are the quite good vocabulary representation way, which can enliven the classroom atmosphere, centralize children's attention, enhance the child long-term memory; But the different category vocabulary has different best way to represent, the representation way to be different, the results in children Chinese vocabulary learning is different.Through analyzes of experimental and the result's discussion, we believe the way that correspond with the children development characteristic, arouse student's enthusiasm, the teachers and students can interact well is the effective representation way to promote. But the teaching design, the organization, the implementation process, should consider the teaching goal and the course content, take the student as main bodies, take the duty as the center, to design teaching activity which the design and the course content are closely linked. When the teaching activity serves for the course content well, the teaching can achieve the anticipated target.Vocabulary representation, as the breakthrough point of study in the teaching Chinese as a foreign language, researching the different representation way brings what different results, expanse and deepen the area of vocabulary research, has certain practical value to the language psychology area and the second language area.This is a primary investigation on the ways that vocabulary can be represented in Chinese for foreigners, and may has limitations due to all the subjective and objective conditions, thus needs to be carried out further.
