Study On The Occurrence Mechanism Of The Vulnerability Of Man-Land System In Coal City

Coal city is one kind of the resource-based cities that depends mainly on exploitation and original processing of coal resources. In the process of building the industrial system for New China and realizing the goal of socialist modernization construction, the coal cities had provided large amounts of coal, which has made a great contributions to the enhancement of the national economic strength, the development of the regional economy and acceleration of urbanization and Industrialization . However,under high strength exploitation for many years, a lot of coal cities have been becoming the resource-exhausted cities because the resource reservation is depleting gradually and the cost of exploitation in rising continually. Correspondingly, many social,economic and ecological problems such as unemployment is emerging,which have a serious effect on the social stability.So the development of the coal cities is always one of the focuses of attention and many subjects have made many studies on it. But the concern of the previous research is mostly concentrating on the economic transition of the cities with problems and the environmental treatment as well as the social development of the coal cities,it obvious that there is a lack of the studies that reveal the rule of the Man-Land system and the root of the problems in the coal cities from the perspectives of coupling relationship among nature, economy and society. For the coal cities have a distinct characteristic of interaction between man and environment, this paper take a new framework of study basing on the previous research.Basing on the theory of Man-Land system, following the trend of the research on sustainable development of Man-Land system, this article put emphasis on the process and mechanism of the coupling effect of Man-Land system. Taking Fuxin for example, which is one of the coal resource-exhausted cities, this dissertation analyzes the mechanism of the vulnerability of Man-Land system from the micro level. Through generalizing the basal framework of"vulnerability sustainable developme- nt countermeasure",this article tries to analyze the vulnerability and manifestations of the problems. This effort is favorable for Fuxin to recognize the condition of itself so as to realize sustainable development for the city. It can also provide some experience for the development of other coal cities.
