Vulnerability theory and analysis method have been applied in many disciplines, and it is one of frontier scientific issues in man land system theory of the geography. Some scholars of our country have been introduced vulnerability to the research of man land system in mining city, correlation research results are very rich, quickly became one of important means in sustainable development research of man land system of mining city," vulnerability assessment--sustainable development strategy " has become a model in this research field. The paper reviews the basic theory of vulnerability research of man land system in mining city, elaborated the mechanism of vulnerability of man land system in mining city. Based on vulnerability theory,this paper systematically studies the typical resource-exhausted mining city-Liaoyuan city in Jilin Province, analyzed vulnerability characteristics of man land system in Liaoyuan City, the vulnerability of man land system was evaluated and secondly evaluated based on simulation of system, put forward optimize the countermeasure of vulnerability adjusting control of man land system in Liaoyuan city. The paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter reviews the developing history about mining industry city research, vulnerability theory research, and man land system research at home and abroad. This chapter focuses on the concept of vulnerability, content and method of evaluation, research framework of vulnerability, and development problem of mining city after reading a lot of literatures.The second chapter analyzes the structure and mechanism of man land system in mining city. Man land system of mining city is divided into three sub system, including economic system, natural system and social system, and this chapter analyses the structure and driving force of the three subsystems, summarizes the connotation of vulnerability of man land system of mining city, pointed out inherent attributes of vulnerability of man land system, discussed the occurrence mechanism of vulnerability of man land system of mining city, attributed system vulnerability to a result of interaction between sensitivity factors and the restoring force of system, and further summarizes the sensitivity factors and resilience factor s of economic system, natural system and social system of the mining city.The third chapter studies the vulnerability characteristics of man land system of Liaoyuan city. Firstly, this chapter introduced Liaoyuan’s natural and cultural profile. Secondly, this chapter summed up economic transformation mode of Liaoyuan City. This chapter introduced the setting of generation of the "Liaoyuan mode", discussed the substantial of the "Liaoyuan mode". The core content of the "Liaoyuan mode" includes invigorated resource industry of Liaoyuan city based on develop foreign coal mine; promote starting point of the economic development of Liaoyuan city based on implanted high-tech industries; upgrade traditional industries, promote employment, and put forward six experience points of the " Liaoyuan mode". This chapter further explore the portability of transplantation of the "Liaoyuan mode" and transplantation path. Finally, this chapter discussed the vulnerability characteristics of man-land system of Liaoyuan city in the period of depletion of resources.The fourth chapter evaluated the vulnerability of man land system of the Liaoyuan city. In the light of vulnerability characteristics of man land system of the Liaoyuan city, follow the principles of systematic, objective, dynamic, and sustainable, this chapter constructed the index system of man land system of the Liaoyuan city. These chapters evaluated the vulnerability of man land system of the Liaoyuan city from1990to2010combined with the corresponding mathematical model, and select the appropriate of AHP and entropy method. Finally, this chapter analyze the evaluation results.The fifth chapter evaluated the vulnerability of man land system of the Liaoyuan city based on system simulation. In fact the simulation evaluation includes two steps. The first step simulated man land system by selecting the appropriate index system and constructing the simulation model. This paper adopts the method of system dynamics of human-earth system simulation. In order to build the system dynamics model which have high validity and satisfy requirements, this paper analyzed the system structure, and the simulation indicator system include and greater than the evaluation index of vulnerability of man land system. The second step evaluated the vulnerability of man land system of the Liaoyuan city based on the simulation results. Finally, this chapter analyze the evaluation results.The sixth chapter put forward control strategy of the vulnerability of man land system of the Liaoyuan city. According to results of assessment and simulation evaluation of vulnerability of man land system in Liaoyuan city, analyzed the main influence factors and the driving factor of vulnerability of man land system of the Liaoyuan city, put forward regulatory policy of vulnerability of man land system of the Liaoyuan city from reduce the vulnerability and enhance their ability of sustainable development.The conclusion part summarizes the main conclusion and innovation, and points out the deficiencies of the thesis.
