Today, in China, whether in traditional print or new media network will see illustrations of such a phenomenon: the main themes of urban life, design methods of compromise, gorgeous colorful, highly decorative and visual effects impact. They are referred to as "Aggressive" illustrations. It originated in Western countries, but contains qualities of Chinese culture. In a pluralistic world of illustration, it unique, and is widely used in the fields.Most of the authors of Aggressive illustrations are the generation after 80s, with other age, growing up in a huge difference. They pay attention to self, like the expression of personality. In general, these illustrations have been very difficult for people to understand and accept, but they have been widely used by the public and the hot pursuit. We can not help but ask: Why are they designed this style of illustration? This style is so popular, and why?In the article, the theory of "material" and "structure" of visual culture studies which created by Marcia– Bolton were made of the basis, and to further expand. Using horizontal and vertical comparison from the subject matter, design elements, and the design approach explain illustrations. Later on make a description of the "structure" logic:The social and art history, combined with China's own national conditions. On this basis, this article discusses the current situation of the aesthetic of the Aggressive illustration, that the small scale, Aggressive illustration have own progress, but from a higher point of view, they should have lost their creativity, critical and the concept, the appearance of a magnificent visual violence, and lack of a non-utilitarian nature of humanistic concern.
