With the progress and development of information technique, multimedia tends to be applied to teaching Chinese as a second language in China. The previous researches and experiments have proved that audio-visual-oral teaching is beneficial to second language learning in that it can stimulate students'interest in study, especially time-saving and efficient in teaching. However, in fact, audio-visual-oral Chinese teaching as foreign language is not so popular and widespread in teaching practice, which is necessarily related to unsuitable materials in audio-visual-oral teaching.It is also turned out that there exist quite a few problems in the writing and applying of audio-visual-oral text books in china, which are under specific analysis and research. Based on contrast analysis of representative audio-visual-oral texts, the thesis analyzes and sums up the shortages of present texts in details with comparing their advantages and disadvantages to find out specific strategies to deal with. Therefore, the research facilitates compiling of audio-visual-oral texts in order, giving new and feasible advice in writing, and forming logical writing patterns to develop and promote audio-visual Chinese teaching as foreign language.The thesis is composed of the following parts including:The first is an introduction making up of three sections. First, it brings in the purpose and significance of researches, shedding light to the subject. Second, it demonstrates the present research on the topic by collecting and classifying. Finally, it introduces the research subjects including Chinese Video, China Panorama and Qinhuai People. Besides, the methodology is composed of contrast analysis, statistical approach, graphologies and enumeration and so on. The second part mainly introduces the audio-visual-oral materials in Teaching Chinese as a foreign language. First, the thesis makes a brief definition of the concept of audio-visual-oral materials. Secondly, it demonstrates the three-point function of audio-visual-oral materials. Finally, it brings in the theoretical basis of audio-visual-oral materials, which are written on the basis of pedagogy, psychology and learning theory.The third part is comparative study of three sets of audio-visual-oral materials with three sections. Section I, comparative analysis of the layout style of textbooks. As for styles, it is divided into external structure and internal structure to analyze. Section II, compared and analyzed the content of textbooks. With regard to content, it focuses on introduction, texts, vocabulary, notes and exercises. Section III, it comparative analysis of the audio-visual. On the study of video, it emphasizes the setting of time, voice and images.The four parts is conclusion and enlightenment. The first one states the advantages of the three textbooks such as style layout with systemic, variety of topics, notes normative and logic of practice. The second points out the disadvantages of three textbooks: lack of information and modernity in introduction and content, insufficiency and lack of classification in notes, interpretation and exercises. The five parts, it demonstrates the improvement strategy and suggests of audio-visual-oral materials. Put forward three ways of improving the disadvantages, increasing the knowledge of cultural, new vocabulary tagging mode and expanding the scope of exercises. The last suggests producing specific audio-visual teaching films and making up electronic texts.The final part is a further suggestion summarizing the research result and limitation in this study.We hope that the subject can give some suggestions to the writers and develop and promote audio-visual-oral Chinese teaching as foreign language.
