According to the continuously progress of society, increased enrollment in colleges and universities and applying English becoming more popular in the society, English teaching in class should turn to a new English teaching method, and let more students get more English knowledge. Because of the influence in increased enrollment, the different levels of the students are very serious and it brings great difficulties to the English teaching. Many colleges and universities adopt"stratified teaching", but it affects self-esteem and self-confidence of some low level and moderate level students, leading to school-weary and giving up studying English; for high level students, the affection is that they will have arrogance and will give up getting the progress. In explicit teaching mode, each level has different teaching content, so it violates the principle of equal education. Due to some aspects, I propose"covertly stratified teaching". For checking the effectiveness of this teaching method, I study it in my college--Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Jiamusi College 2008 College Class 2 Grade Acupuncture and get the results to compare with the forth marks and get the conclusion.To"covertly stratified teaching", I consider the psychological factors of the students. In the process of teaching, it requires that teaching in the natural class. Students don't know which level they belong to. This operation is extremely good for students studying English, and teachers unceasingly encourage students, that way won't hurt the self-esteem of students of low level and moderate level.Adopting"covertly stratified teaching"requires higher for teachers, from knowing all students in a natural class, to prepared covertly stratified teaching and layered evaluation. Every step requires the teachers'preparation and implementation. Teachers also need further improvement. After every stage of covertly stratified teaching, teachers understand, analyze and survey every student and adjust students'level again. In this case, it is good at giving the higher requires for students, and finally students all get the progress. Using"covertly stratified teaching", we must pay attention to achievement of the final target. During exam, we don't make distinction in the test, the same examination paper, the same requires. But in the evaluation, teacher must make layered comment and give the efficacious encouragement to every level student. Promote students to learn English and finally all students get common progress.After a year and a half, in 2008 College Class 2 Grade Acupuncture, I found that"covertly stratified teaching"makes us get many benefits. But in practice, we also met some difficulties. I expect to resolve these difficulties one by one in the future practice and make"covertly stratified teaching"have further development and completeness.
