Since the publishing of Ma's Grammar, there have been many different views about the types of complex sentences and inferior classification to the relation words among the academic world. This paper reviews the study situation of transition complex sentence in different periods, according to Mr. Xing Fuyi's definition of the transition complex sentence, to define the scope of transition sentence and transition words in Chinese and English, the transition complex sentences in a broad sense in Chinese could be divided into three types: direct transition, concessive transition and hypothetical transition. Then the English corresponding forms of different types of transition complex sentence and transition relation words are discussed respectively through conducting general theories and methods in comparison linguistics, hoping this would provide some help to the overseas students, whose native language is English, while studying Chinese transition complex sentence. The whole paper includes five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, in which the study scope, contents, aim, significance, methods and corpus exposition are briefly introduced. The second chapter analyzes the related study situations of transition relations between Chinese and English from different aspects. The third chapter discusses the classification and use of modern Chinese transition complex sentence. The fourth chapter dissertates on the English corresponding forms of Chinese transition relation words. The fifth chapter proposes the study strategy for the overseas students, whose native language is English, while studying Chinese transition complex sentence.
