Researching Problems Of Small Town In West Development

After reforming and opening up, China's economy sustains a continuous and high-speed growing in totality. But at the same time, the developing gap between the west and the east is continually expanding, The cause of this gap expanding is many-faceted. But the very important reason is the lag of the west's urbanization. As a result, accelerating the urbanization progress of the west is being of great urgency in west developmentHow to accelerate the urbanization progress of the west? Different people have their different views. Some advocate that "the pattern of big cities " is principal. While some maintain that "the pattern of small town" is primary. But the purpose of writing this dissertation is not lied in endorsing or disputing which standpoint above mentioned. Through positively analyzing the present conditions of the west's urbanization , this dissertation deems that, under the situation of the west's capital cities isolated developing, and of the economic radiant force of the west's big and medium cities to vast rural areas being obviously inadequate, developing small towns has very important sense and function in many aspects. For example, it can push on the urbanization progress of the west's rural areas, and expand the growing space of the west's rural economy, and surmount the "binary structure" between the west's cities and rural areas, etc.Then, how should small towns of the west develop? This dissertation thinks that, on one hand , the west should actively absorb useful experiences of developed countries and the China's east developing small towns, for example, paying attention to cultivating the economic agent, and attaching importance to the action of market mechanism in the construction of small towns, and thinking highly of using industrialization to push the development of small towns. On the other hand , the west should combine the development of small towns with the industrial superiority and nature-resource characteristics of the west's each province and autonomous region .At the same time, the west should lay stress on quality and develop small towns which is diversified, and full of regional color of the west, and having complete function. Only so, small towns of the west could fully play important function on accelerating rural urbanization of the west and spurring on economic development of rural areas of hinterland.From the logic structure, this dissertation is divided into four sections .The first section mainly explains general concepts and theories about urbanization and small town. Through inspecting the current situation of the west's urbanization, the second section mainly analyses the significance and function of quickening the development of small towns in west development. Basing on recommending successful experiences about developed countries and the China's east developing small towns, the third section mainly inquires into the concrete pattern of the west developing small towns .The fourth section specially analyses correlate problems about GuangXi developing small towns, and put forward corresponding suggestion and recommendation.
