Research On Dynamic Monitor Of The Desertification And Its Evolution Patterns In Fuxin Area

As a global environment problem, desertification is becoming one of the research hotshots around the world. In this paper, Fuxin area is chosen as an example. After analyzing the concepts of desertification, an index system on classification and assessment of desertification is put forward, which uses the types of land use, the types of desertification and the desertification degrees. Based on this index system, a dynamic monitor of desertification that covers 21 years in this area is made, using remote sensing images from three different time phrases, RS and GIS techniques. When this has been done, the evolution patterns of the desertification are researched.
