On Valuing The Growth Of Tourism In The Economic Development Of China, D.P.R. Korea, Russia Tumen River Lower Reaches

Since its initial development in the late 1980's,there has been great progress in Tumen River LowerReaches. The area includes the northeastern partof China, Korean Peninsula, the eastern part ofRussia, Mongolia and the northwestern part ofJapan. Due to political, economic, cultural factors,the deveIopment process of the area has been veryslow. There not being a previous case taken asexample of the economic cooperation anddevelopment in the Northeast Asia, it is, at present,an important task of the area to upgrade itseconomic development. This paper expounds thatthe shortcut to the co-development of the area is tovalue and develop its tourist industry. The firstsection of this paper is about the general survey ofIIthe economy of the area. The second section expounds the role of tourism and its role to be played in the area. The third section puts forward several proposals for the cooperation and development of tourism. The concluding section brings forwards the significance.
