Applying input-output analysis method, this thesis studies development of industries and their interdependence in Guangdong province and thereby reaches three conclusions. Firstly, the economy of Guangdong is composed of such six industrial groups as agriculture product group, energy resources group, chemistry group, nonmetal group, metal group and information and service group. Each group is of outstanding independence and develops rational cooperation of industries inside. Secondly, this study makes clear sequence of industrial development in Guangdong. Thirdly, decrease of intermediate input rate (IIR) can improve economic effects to a certain extent since rapid increase of IIR results in deterioration of economic effects in Guangdong. Besides above conclusions, this study furtherly makes two other important contributions. One is that interdependence of industrial groups in Guangdong finds its own change character in the fact that independence degree of each industrial group varies in a same direction with how much the others depend on the former. The other is that Guangdong economy typically manifests itself in three aspects: import and export in large volumes, foreign trade export (FTE) completely outnumbering domestic trade export and processing trade leading FTE. Based on those research results, this thesis puts forward some proposals. Besides, this thesis defines such analysis indices as consuming-distributing coefficient, intermediate flow coefficient, intermediate demand rate, import rate, export rate and those in cost-output analysis.
