Guangdong Architectural Scientific Research Institute

This paper is a comprehensive case study, which consists of two parts, the case and the case analysis.The case in part one describes the development of Guangdong Architectural Scientific Research Institute (GASRI) from the beginning of 1999 to September of 2001. In less than three years, GASRI has made a great expansion in its economies and an outstanding achievement in its scientific researches; it' s output, shareholder' s equity, and cash flow has increased 125%, 75%, and 284% respectively in comparing with its past. GASRI are stepping in a positive cycle of development. The case mainly introduces some methods that have been taken to motivate GASRI to success. With these methods, which include mind changing, development planning, specialty construction focusing and teamwork restructuring, GASRI has effectively realized to combine its scientific research with the market.In case analysis part of this paper, the strategic management theory and other relative theories are applied to GASRT case. Based on a macro environmental analysis, the SWOT analysis, the Five Force Model competition analysis, the relative diversification analysis and etc., which had been established particularly to GASRI' s practice, the existing problems in respect to the strategic development of GASRI were discussed, and proper solutions to the problems and recommendations for future developing were suggested consequently.
