The Research On The Present Situation And The Developing Tactics Of Small Towns In Anyang

To develop small towns and promote the level of rural urbanization is an inevitable stage in historical development, and also, is the necessary solution to a series of problems, such as the insufficient domestic demand, and the pressure brought by the migration of rural population to big cities. Under this background, " small towns problem" has been focused by all the related academic research and numerous findings have been achieved. However, among these studies, there are only a few that are focused on the problems in Chinese Middle less developed area and then individual developing strategies for different types of small towns in this area. Therefore, in this work, Anyang, a typical city in this area, has been taken as our research model to discuss the method of classification of small towns, and appropriate developing strategies for various types of small towns. And it is wished that it could provide some inspiration for the acceleration of small towns construction in Chinese Middle area.In this article, five parts were included. In the first part, the related theories of small town development were discussed. And based on this discussion, in the second part, the present situation of small towns in Anyang was analyzed. Because of the realization that the developing level of these towns is low, the concept was put forward that small towns were classified according to their individual functions, and then the corresponding developing strategies were made.In the third part, including economy development level and structure, services for living, scale of towns and construction level, position, and transportation conditions, potential of region developing, et al, thirteen parameters, all of which belonging to five broad sorts, were adopted, and Principal Component Analysis, combined with qualitative analysis, was applied at the same time, to classify the small towns of Anyang into six types.In the forth part, developing tactics for different types of small towns were discussed. According to the specific characteristic of different type of towns, the developing direction of every type was determined. Therefore, on this basis, the developing strategies, for every aspect of every type, were studied in detail. To elucidate the application of specific strategies into practices, four typical towns, which develop well and have their own traits individually at the same time, were analyzed for their developing experiences respectively, which were thought to inspire others' constructions in Anyang.Finally, for the general problems existing in the development of all the small towns of Anyang, the future developing model and strategies were put forward synthetically. In detail, the inward development routine should be preferred. On the basis of strengthening planning, using every advantageous policy, small town of specific characteristic would be developed gradually and the level of urbanization in Anyang would be improved.The special things in this paper which deserve to be mentioned are as follows: the writer made a systematic study on the development of small towns in Anyang, and in the third part produced the qualitative and quantitative analysis process for the classification of small towns in Anyang . Based on these, developing tactics for different types of small towns were proposed in the forth part ,which are wished to provide some inspiration for the acceleration of small towns construction in Anyang and the whole Chinese Middle area.
