Study On The Sustainable Development Of Wanjiang City Belt

Sustainable development is a hotspot, which concerned at large and discussed widely in the world nowadays. Sustainable development is the target of all the countries. City is the main body of the development in the society, economics, and culture, which pay an important strategic role in region development. Strengthening city's sustainable development research can provide a science basis for establishing development stratagem. Wanjiang city belt is the key exploitation and opening district in Anhui province, its favorable economic basis and predominant section condition pay crucial strategic status in economic development in Anhui province. The aim of studying Wanjiang city belt's sustainable development is to strengthen regional economic conformity, facilitate regional collaboration, exert colony predominance, expedite regional city's economic development, then make it a core economic area of Anhui. Thereby, economic development of the whole province even the Changjiang economic belt brought along is very important for intensivismly utilizing regional resources, protecting entironment, and realizing social-economy sustainable development.According to sustainable development theories, combined "time serial" with "space serial" aspect, factor analysis and Data Envelopment Analysis (DBA) etc mathematics methods were used to quantitatively assess and analyze the sustainable development level and the sustainable development comprehensive ability, then provide corresponding development stratagem. The paper was divided into six chapters. In Chapter 1, research background, meaning, the study status at the overseas and domestic and the present existent problems of regional sustainable development were expounded. In Chapter 2, the conception of city belt was annotated, and it is especially point out that Wanjiang city belt is not a city organic colony in really economy meaning, which is only a city denseness belt constituted by cities distributed along the main traffic line. At the same time, theory bases of this paper were analyzed. In Chapter 3, comprehensive assessment index system of city belt's sustainable development was analyzed and put forward. In Chapter 4, regional general situation of Wanjiang city belt was recommended firstly, then comprehensive sustainable development level and ability were assessed and analyzed by using the theories and methods mentioned in Chapter 3. In Chapter 5, some countermeasures and suggestions were advanced in allusion to the problems existed in Wanjiang city belt at present. Chapter 6 is the conclusion part.By quantitatively assessing and analyzing the sustainable development status of Wanjiang city belt, the following results can be concluded: 1 Wanjiang city belt was in a favorable sustainable development shape, and which is better than that of the average levelof Anhui province. Especially, the district of Wuhu-Maanshan-Tongling was the high preferable area in the whole Wanjiang city belt also in the whole province. Whereas, compared with other city belt along Changjiang River, Wanjiang city belt was still a relatively backward area. Thereby, these are the main tasks for a long time in the future to strengthen economy construction of each city in Wanjiang region, expedite economy development velocity, optimize industry structure, make Wanjiang city belt a core district in Anhui province, impel the development of Anhui province and Changjiang economy belt. (2) As the core city in Wanjiang city belt, Wuhu had the high comprehensive development level, but its predominance was not distinctness relative to other cities, and can not exert its convergency and radialization function. So, enlarging city's scale, booting up economy strength and cultivating regional economy increasing pole, Wuhu city can play an important role for regional economy.
