The image of city tourism is one of the key elements to attract tourists, so establishing a unique, distinct, inspiring while authentic tourist image is the core of urban tourism. After analyses the actuality of the practice and research of image of tourist city in the world, this paper intends to discuss the feasibility of establishing the image of tourist city by City Tourism Identity System which is come from Corporate Identity System, then lead the CTIS to planning the image of tourist city, and build up a popularly mode of it. It is composed of investigation and consultation, definition and tourist slogan, design, application and dissemination. In the end it is discussed by using a case of Xiamen's tourist image. It provides a practicable mode for planning the image of tourist city.
