Performance management is the crucial route of human resources management. To set up an efficient performance management system is a new trend of performing performance management. The performance managing actions, which aims to improve the whole performance of a firm through increasing individual performances of employees, attracts more and more attention of business world.Combined with the actual practices of performance managing system of Wuhan Branch of ACE, this paper presents much performance management theories, and points out the important functions of performance management in the business operating environment of a firm, and shows how to design a performance management system for employees.The paper is composed of five parts, with each focusing on the following issues.The first part presents the related performance management, mainly introducing some related concepts, the signification and theories such as Objective Management, Cybernetics, Information Study, and System Theory, etc. The problems existed in Performance management also be introduced. The second part demonstrates the procedures, principles of designing a performance management system and points out the issues those should be paid attention, thus forming a foundation for the fourth part. The third part focuses on the analysis of the existingpractical performance management of ACE Wuhan Branch and on finding out the related problems, in order to make the succeeding performance management system have a definite objective in view. Then comes to the fourth part, which, based on the foregoing practical analysis, aims to seek for problem solutions and redesign the performance management of ACE Wuhan Branch. In the fifth part, the performance management redesigning work is summarized and evaluated.Since the performance management system of ACE Wuhan Branch just comes into being for a comparatively short time, there must still exist some problems which I am not experienced enough to realize. However, I have the determination and confidence to raise my performance managing competence and then improve the system continuously as my knowledge and experience promote.
