Research On Core Competence Of Military Institutes For Engineering Research & Design

Being the source of capabilities of corporation, core competence acts as the foundation and headspring of the corporation's continuable advantages. Furthermore, the business scope, especially the extent and intensiveness of multiplex operation, is determined by the deposits of core competence.This thesis intensively analyzes the status quo and the future positions of the military institutes which serve for national defence and spaceflight. The current primary issues of those institutes are revealed, and the opportunities and the challenges with which they have to be confronted are recognized. Secondly, by applying the strategic administration theory - the core competence theory, an evaluation system of core competence is developed for the military institutes. From the view points of market, technology and administration, it is ulteriorly pointed out that the capability of design and research of those military institutes is their core competence. In the face of the new opportunities and the new challenges, improving the core competence is the only way for the military institutes to survive and grow with the development of national defence and spaceflight. Finally, in order to enhance the core competence of the military institutes to be seasoned with the worldwide military reformation and the expeditious development of science and technology, five approaches, including reforming inner system, improving technology, accelerating the construction of intellectual engineering, renovating the means and ideology of design and research, and inheriting and carrying forward the excellent traditions, are brought forward and discussed.
