Competition has come into being the fashion in which enterprises survive and develop in the market economy environment in present tendency of economy globalization, traffic modernization and information networking. And the bulk of enterprises have been made nearly no continuable competitive advantage. Hence that how to establish competitive advantage, and to evaluate and promote the competitiveness of enterprises, is the primary question which enterprises are concerned about.In this context, study on the competitiveness of enterprises has become the task of the epoch of economic development. Soaring of Chinese economy and reinforcing of Chinese strength inevitably lie on mightiness of the overall strength of Chinese enterprises, as well as more and more enterprises with multinational competitive advantages being fundamental supports. Thus it is required to guide Chinese enterprises to reinforcing strength with precise theoretic thoughts, and practice for establishing global competitive advantage.This paper spreads in four parts concerning with study on evaluation and promotion of competitiveness of enterprises by virtue of the management and economics theories. Firstly, competitiveness of enterprises is reviewed theoretically, and the background indicated of competitiveness of enterprises, domestic and foreign research outcomes, together with principal theories about competitiveness of enterprises are analyzed. And the research orientation, methods and innovation features are clarified, which lay a foundation for an integrated theoretic system in this paper. Secondly, the importance of evaluation of competitiveness of enterprises is confirmed, and the evaluation index system and the evaluation process of competitiveness of enterprises are demonstrated. Thirdly, fundamental measures and essential tactics for promoting competitiveness of enterprises are elaborated based on theory, and the predictive thoughts are illustrated for enterprises. Finally, by dint of the primary conclusions obtained from the above analyses, auto industry, a fundamental industry concerning the strength basis of China economy is selected, and the competitiveness of enterprises in Chinese auto industry is evaluated, based onwhich strategic suggestion for promoting competitiveness of enterprises in Chinese auto industry confronted with global market competition is presented.
