International Competitiveness Of The Chinese Auto Companies

Owing to depending on too much on the industrial protecting policies by the government, such as the Tariff Barriers and Import Quota System, the Chinese automobile industry has inefficient competitive ability. After entering WTO, Chinese Automobile Manufacturing Enterprises will expose to the international competitive environment, competing not only with the traditional powerful automobile manufacturers in USA, Japan and Germany, but also with the emerging automobile manufacturers in Korea and Span. As the government of China has already confirmed that the industrial position of automobile as a very important one, the problem of whether the international competitive ability of Chinese automobile manufacturers possess of can enable them to survive and make further development in the international competitive environment, becomes more and more prominent. The thesis is divided into three parts, whose purpose is to study the international competitive status of Chinese automobile manufacturers, find affecting factors, suggest enhancing methods and forecast the prospect of these enterprises separately. The theoretical foundation of this thesis is the extended theory of Value-Addedtheory-Value-Creating theory.The main theoretical analytical method is Value Chain. Various research methods of social sciences are used, including case study and comparative analysis as well as qualitative and quantitative ways. The conclusion the author finally gets is that Chinese automobile manufacturers occupy a weaker status in international competition. Then the author studies the reasons that cause these weakness based on the analytical method of Value Chain.
