| During the course of the financial marketization reform of our country, the commercial banks of the shareholding system have grown up, and have increased the growth of the financial total amount on one hand, the more important thing is that they have created the competition of the bank field as the banks outside the system, and have improved operational efficiency of the banking of our country. What is the market competitiveness of the commercial banks of the shareholding system as the new banking force, compared with four major state-run banks? While China's financial circles is opened gradually, with the enormous impact after China's accession to the WTO, what kind of living environment will be faced by the commercial banks of the shareholding system? This text attempts to answer the above questions, and through using the conclusion that draws to the case study, put forward the tactics and suggestions for the commercial banks of the shareholding system developing.The full text divides into five parts.In the first part, the author has described the essence and form of the commercial banks at first, pointed out that "real commercial bank" is a legal person of enterprise who can manage fund goods, can create the deposit, can implement the "four-oneself management" of making decisions on his own, profit-and-loss responsibility, taking risks by himself and self-discipline; about the question of the ownership of the capital, comparatively, the shareholding system form can conform with the essential attribute of the commercial bank even more. In the second part, this text has analyzed the changes of the system of the banking of China, analyzed the growth up of the commercial banks of the shareholding system, and pointed out the new developing commercial banks of the shareholding system have already become the important component of the financial system of our country, have poured into new vigor for the bank system, have broken the pattern that the state-run commercial banks unify the whole country. And then, this text comments briefly on this news "The State Council has determined to implement the shareholding system transformation and launched a pilot project in the commercial banks of our country's state-run individual proprietorship— Bank of China and Chinese Construction Bank, and put national foreign exchange reserve of 45 billion dollars to supplement the capital for these two banks. This text points out that the direction of the financial reform of our country has aimed at the shareholding system, and the present commercial banks of shareholding system have offered the original version for developing direction of the state-run commercial banks in many aspects, too.In the third part, the author has used the theory of enterprise's competitiveness to study the commercial bank's competitiveness, namely that the enterprise's competitiveness is " the enterprise has the ability and chance to design, produce, sell the goods, and render service with more attractive price and quality than its domestic and foreign competitor in each environment at present and in the future. Then this text lays stress on analyzing basic resources, manpower capital, scientific and technological progress, government control, management system, management level, and financial situation—eight respects which influence the commercial bank's competitiveness, and has set up the competitiveness index system of Chinese commercial banks. This index system adds up to 40 indexes. Among them, there are 11 assets types, 29 course types, 12 soft quotas, and they have embodied the thought that the course is more important than the assets.
