Study On Tianjin Road Traffic Issue And Countermeasure

In recent years, the fast progress of urbanization makes the traffic demand increase very quickly and the contradiction between urban traffic supply and demand becomes outstanding increasingly. In Tianjin, which is the third biggest city in China and the important economic center in the North, the traffic problems is up against more and more obvious along with the continuous, double-quick development of society and city economy. In the thesis, the impact of urban progress to road traffic is analyzed, the common traffic problems in the cities of China, such as traffic jam, traffic environment and traffic accidents, are expatiated, the experiences and lessons of solving traffic issues in some cities in the world are summarized. Combining the existing road condition in Tianjin and adopting a large number of basic statistic materials and diagrams, an analysis on the main traffic problems are given from the aspects of trip, road capacity and the function of road network, transportation planning and land-use, modal split, traffic disturbs, static traffic and management level. Also the levels and relation that caused traffic conflict are obtained through the way of expert investigation. Considering of the trend of urban development, the demand of the traffic modes and urban traffic capacity of Tianjin in 2020 are predicted by using exponential smoothing, synthetic calculation, and the conclusion why the conflict between traffic supply and demand becomes increasing noteworthy is made out. Based on the road condition and continual development strategy, the city traffic policy shall be started firstly, solving of the current prominent problems combined with long-term scheme, comprehensive measures should be taken and the working to solve problems shall be strengthened. The major policies and measures that are presented in the thesis are as follows:Attaching stratagem importance to urban traffic, intensifying the reform of traffic management system;Further emphasizing the policy of " bus priority", developing energetically public transit; Decreasing properly the amount of bicycles, optimizing the configuration of traffic mode; Regulating and controlling the growth of private cars, accelerating the harmonious progress of private cars and urban traffic supply; Strengthening traffic planning, reasonably planning of the city structure; increasing the parking lots, solving static traffic problems, and promoting city traffic to the orbit of favorable development. Meanwhile, some proposals are presented to management departments of road traffic on the aspects of improving traffic managing establishments and traffic organizing system, enhancing managing function, harmonizing and managing road traffic activities fluently. It is a project of systems engineering and also a long- term tough task to solve urban traffic issues. The road traffic problems in Tianjin must be regarded and worked out effectively by Tianjin government and the entire society.
