Study On The Strategy Of Nanjing Electrical Network Equipment Manufacturing Industry

The dissertation derives from the research project: Studies on Nanjing's Road to New Industrialization. As the member of the studying group, I participated in the sub-project: Study on Nanjing Equipment Manufacturing Industry?with the Background of New Industrialization. During the studying period, I have a deeper awareness and interest in Nanjing's industry especially equipment manufacturing industry. Based on the following factors, I choose Nanjing Electrical Network Equipment Manufacturing Industry (NENEMI) as my studying object with the remarkable value. Firstly Nanjing, as the key city in Yangtze River Delta that is being pushed towards the world manufacturing centre, is ambitiously launching its Riverside Revitalization Plan. As a result, the manufacturing industry in Nanjing will benefit from it with a great grow accordingly. Secondly, at the early 2003, Nanjing listed power industry as one of five pillar industries as the new economy grow engine. It will be meaningful to study how to improve electrical equipment and promote Nanjing power industry as well. Meanwhile, the existing status of Nanjing electrical equipment, especially NENEMI is comparatively strong. Also it boasts some reputable listed companies, such as NARI, SAC, however the systemic studies in this field remain blank. In the dissertation, I firstly try to define NENEMI, and then set up the competitive index of NENEMI in Nanjing equipment manufacturing industry with the analytical ways of strategic management and the competitive power analytical model in the article of Local Industrial Competitive Power Statistics Analysis in China written by Ma Yinshu. Also I analyzed its rank around the country. Meanwhile the development status of the various companies in the NENEMI field is described so as to outline the existing NENEMI situation. Secondly, I analyze the opportunities and challenge of NENEMI, in which External Factor Evaluation Matrix (EFEM) and Internal Factor Evaluation Matrix (IFEM) is used to evaluate the external and internal environment. Thirdly, I briefly forecast upon the development of international electrical network equipment industry, in accordance with which the NENEMI development goals are summarized. Finally, the dissertation also offers the NENEMI development strategies and policy proposals. It is expected that NENEMI can benefit from the innovation of industry organization , technology and management, and then promote its core competitiveness, eventually improve Nanjing's manufacturing strength around the Yangtze River Delta.
