Suburb is the transition zone between city and village , it is aslo the intersectional area where the artificial ecosystem of city and the natural ecosystem of village exists . Suburbs tourism utilize the rural scenery, natural ecology and environmental resources, combine the farming production, forestry, animal husbandry, sideline production and fishery, business activities, rural culture, peasant family and living etc, offer the amusement projects, tasting , shopping etc. Suburbs tourism is regional tourism which is connected city tourism and rural tourism. Secondly, suburbs offer a wide activity space for materials circulation and abundant information; on the other hand, suburb tourism can give more multiple benefits than the other professions in the suburbs and promote the development of suburbs economy, coordinate the environment and the benign developments of the society, culture, etc.Thirdly, city develops with the suburb tourism inseparably, promote mutually. The urban question is the main thrust which causes the development of suburb tourism. With the more and more serious urban problems, a lot of city households go out of the cities. There are unique tourist resources in the edge area which form strong appeal, spur the tourism consumption. Therefore the thrust of the city and the pulling force of the suburb act on the result under which the suburb tourism created. The city size , population, multiple factors , urbanization level would all play a role to confine the development of suburb tourism, on the other hand suburb tourism can bring an advance in urban economy and city overall layout.Fourthly, the thesis points out some effective measures to promote the development suburb tourism. In future, its traveling production can be mainly divided into several classes: sightseeing, health body, entertainment, commercial meeting, special travel, etc. The individualized travel at one's own expense has already become a kind of fashion of life in the city, ripe individualization travels will become a kind of recreation and amusement life style; It will not only be a kind of new travel style but also a kind of new life style in the suburbs, it is not only a consumption pattern of sightseeing but also the daily consumption pattern for holidays of recreation. Suburb tourism will become an important sign that life quality of the people in the well-to-do society. Suburb tourism should construct the ecological edge district naturally , realize the sustainable development; government leading shall play the key role of communal participation; we should advance the urban and rural areas to integrate, promote the urban tourism and the urban tourism to integrate; pay attention to the whole coordination; take market demand as the direction and improve the quality of the project ; divide into formulation price of grade, carry on energetic propagation and marketing efforts, etc.Finally, take the world-famous tourist city Guilin as a case, "the mountains and waters of Guilin are the finest under heaven" has attracted countless Chinese and foreign visitors.
