Equipment maintenance and repair is a main operation in the corporation especially in the capital intensive industry. With aggravating competition currently in the market and great change in the running circumstance, the outsourcing of equipment maintenance and repair is a very important means for a plant to decrease costs , cut down risks, gain competition advantage and to convert management model. Outsourcing patterns plays a very important role in the process of the outsourcing of equipment maintenance and repair.. Outsourcing patterns is called outsourcing manner which corporation decide to select in the equipment maintenance and repair outsourcing. Research of outsourcing patterns is the premise and foundation of outsourcing decision and a completely particular analysis of outsourcing manner is of great importance in the study of maintenance outsourcing.After summarizing the theoretical research of outsourcing, this paper has studied equipment maintenance outsourcing patterns based on source, controlling, procedure and time which are induced accordingly and analyzed from these aspects: outsourcing reasons, outsourcing relationships, outsourcing features, obtainment of agreement, features of agreement and governance structures. The paper has bring forward two phases maintenance outsourcing patterns choice model based on systems engineering and core competence theory and emphatically selected different decision factors aims at different industry ,different corporations, different equipments and different maintenances. Concretely speaking, for key equipment in the factories this article claim strategic outsourcing pattern and then choose technology maturity and vulnerability of outsourcing as pivotal factors to construct decision model. For common equipment in the factories the paper affirm that it is appropriate to adopt tactical outsourcing pattern and then select economy of scale and management level as pivotal factors to construct decision model. Thus the maintenance outsourcing patterns choice model can be workable for corporation's outsourcing management.
