Research On Application Of 6σ Approach

In this paper, the author has made a concise description of the background of 6σ approach,and analyzed its statistics meaning and theoretic thought.Bearing very good result in application in a lot of famous trans-corporations of 6σ approach, its strong function in quality improvement has drawn some enterprises' attention too in China. The application among these Chinese enterprises has all obtained certain benefit. But the general view is that such advanced quality procedure is only suitable for those enterprises with better foundations of various fields, but not fit for small or medium-sized enterprises. Through the application in Division of Lithium Battery Actual Popularization, Company of L, author made some exploration on the topic how to apply this advanced management method in small and medium-sized enterprises.The application of 6σ in Company of L had gained some effect,and Company of L had gained some income. The author has draw the quality related costs curve of 6σ,and has analysed the reasons that caused enterprise production pursueing from economic quality level to the perfect quality.Some suggestions on implementing 6σ approach were putting forward to enterprises, especially to small and medium- sized enterprises: to obtain the supreme leader's support ,the recognition and trust to group of leaders are key factors in any application stages; to choose the suitable projects and way according to one's own condition of the enterprise; to implement considering both the enterprises total quality management and standardized management, fully give play to the role of existing quality management system of the enterprise .After analyzing the result of 6σ approach application of the company, we can draw the conclusion that 6σ approach is an outstanding quality improvement tool, and it can serve all enterprise and other organizations who determined to do quality improvement.
