As the result of the flourish of acknowledge economy, the higher degree of the our society's opening, and the great alteration of the working methods, modern enterprises and organizations are getting dependent on human resources more and more. Human resources with high qualities and strong competitions are playing an essential role in the existence and development of the modern enterprises and organizations, which can never be superseded by any other factors. As an important integrant of the modern human resources management, career management sticks the needs or demands of the organizations' and that of its staff's together promotively, accomplishes the mutualism and harmonious developments among persons, organizations and the entire societies, and then becomes one of the most efficient ways for persons and organizations to help them get on well with the speeding changing in the social and economical environments.At first, the paper explains the concept and meaning of career and career management, makes it clear how important and significant the management is to persons, enterprises, organizations and the society. After that, the paper gives a summarize of some traditional theories in the research of professional career, then puts forward that the future researches in this field should be more strategical and fore-looking, and should get more realistic to the development in the society andeconomy system.The paper gives four basic starting points while modern enterprises and organizations in operating and managing on one's career. These four points are also the guiding principles in the career managing of an enterprise or an organization. On the base of explains and analyses above, the paper expounds the organizational career management's characteristics, its relation with human resources management, and its specific contents. It clarifies the roles and responsibilities what enterprises or organizations should take in the management, and moreover, suggests to set up an organizational career information system and to take it as a focal point in the managing.The paper illustrates a logical clue during one career, indicates the different stages of an accomplished career. Then it gives a plain pattern of the career developing route , explains each stage's special characteristics, and what main problems enterprises and organizations may confront during the time. Afterwards, for each part of the stage, the paper gives some methods and solutions that the enterprises and organizations can put into practice to help its staff get through the stage successfully and to accomplish his or her career development.At last, the paper gives a conclusion that the theory of career management is just on its upgrade with the booming of acknowledge economy and the birth of humanism management, and it will play a distinctive role in our construction of a continuable developing and learning organization or a society. The paper believes that there will be more constantly researches in this field, and the theory will be applied more actively in all aspects of organizations and the entire society in the future time.
