In nowadays information age, the production and management of enterprises face the unprecedented challenge. Market demand is fast changing, the production technology changes with each passing day, and the life cycle of products is shorter and shorter. The virtual enterprise is exactly a result of this era. Meanwhile, knowledge becomes the most important competition resource of enterprise more and more. The rareness and importance of knowledge resource get the further request to seek knowledge resource and combine knowledge resource all over the world. The high-speed development of information communication and network makes it possible to inter-organizational knowledge sharing in virtual enterprise.On the question of inter-organizational knowledge sharing in virtual enterprise,firstly this paper has researched the theoretical foundation of knowledge-linked virtual enterprise. Knowledge transaction cost theory, core competence theory and strategy gap theory provide theoretical foundation and completion necessity of inter-organizational knowledge sharing in knowledge-linked virtual enterprise.Next, the paper has described the content of virtual enterprise's knowledge management, analyzed the subject matter of knowledge management in the whole lifecycle of virtual enterprise, gestation phase, building phase, operation phase and disorganization phase, draw the virtual enterprise's knowledge management process chart.On the basis of analyzing characteristic of enterprise's knowledge, the paper has analyzed the course of knowledge sharing in virtual enterprises, and described the unique characteristic of inter-organizational knowledge sharing in virtual enterprise. From that the virtual enterprise reaches the goal and member enterprises enlist the long competitive advantage, the paper analyzes the mechanism of inter-organizational knowledge sharing. Using the game theory, the paper has focused on the discussion of the knowledge sharing behaviors of two members' enterprises in virtual enterprise, and educed the two possible existed situation in virtual enterprise of only two members' enterprises sharing knowledge: Prison's Dilemma and Assurance Game.After having analyzed the process and mechanism that virtual enterprises share knowledge, combining the general meaning of effectiveness, this paper has put forward the concept of virtual enterprise's knowledge sharing effectiveness, and analyzed its displaying respects. From the two displaying respects of virtual enterprise's knowledge sharing effectiveness: the effect and cost, the paper has listed the evaluation index system on virtual enterprise's knowledge sharing effectiveness and have analyzed several key influence factors of virtual enterprise' s knowledge sharing effectiveness.
