Evaluation And Categories Study On Urban Sustainable Development In Hong Kong-Macao-Pearl River Delta

Sustainable development is a view of scientific development, which gets attention and recognition in social circles. Cities are the main human inhabitancy, are also the system in which the reciprocity of mans activity and environment is the most complicated. The urban sustainable development is the most important component of the sustainable development.Hong Kong-Macao -Pearl River Delta is one of the most developed and active areas. A urban agglomeration is growing up, which concentrates on Hong Kong , is mainly made up of Guangzhou,Foshan, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Macao. At present, the principal part of the urban agglomeration, cities in Pearl River Delta have been in the metaphase stage of industrialization and urbanization. On the one hand, the circumstances make Hong Kong-Macao -Pearl River Delta in face of huge pressure of population, resource, environment and development; On the other hand, the circumstances make the necessitous demand for cooperation and harmonious development between the Hong Kong-Macao -Pearl River Delta intramural cities, especially between the cities in Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong and Macao. So, studying the urban sustainable development in Pearl River Delta-Hong Kong-Macao has important practical significance.The paper is based on the embedded summary and analysis, Using analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and building up the urban sustainable development indicator system of Hong Kong-Macao -Pearl River Delta. From the point of compositive consideration, The paper uses "the level of sustainable development", "the ability of sustainable development" and "the degree of coordination of sustainable development" to scale the urban sustainable development in Pearl River Delta-Hong Kong-Macao. Then we collect correlative data in 1997, 2000, 2002,unify their calibers. Taking the weighted sum pattern, we get the different levels of computing results of the urban sustainable development of Hong Kong-Macao -Pearl River Delta. According to the computing results, we comparatively analyze the status of the urban sustainable development in Pearl River Delta-Hong Kong-Macao. After that, we compartmentalize the structural types of the urban sustainable development in Pearl River Delta-Hong Kong-Macao. Finally, we summarize the characters of the urban sustainable development in Pearl River Delta-Hong Kong-Macao.Comparative and structural types evolving analyze of the urban sustainable development in Pearl River Delta-Hong Kong-Macao, we can get some conclusions as follows: ①the urban sustainable development in Hong Kong-Macao-Pearl River Delta is boosting up; ②The stability of the three vertical levels are different, which compose the degree of the urban sustainable development in Hong Kong-Macao-Pearl River Delta; ③The gap between Hong Kong-Macao and cities in Pearl River Delta has reduced, but their development pattern are different; ④Cities in Pearl River Delta begin to develop respectively; ⑤The exceptional change of indicators greatly affects the measure and evaluation of urban sustainable development of the cities in Pearl River Delta.
