"Culture exists everywhere. Your competitors may imitate anything from you except culture." Harbert, the founder of American North West Airline, made such remarks.Nowadays, corporate culture is becoming a hot topic concerning the development of a company. What is the corporate culture? How corporate culture can contribute to the company's development? The managers are particularly concerned about how to build a corporate culture to sustain the competence of the company.As for some young but large-sized companies like Unicom, it becomes an urgent task to build an adaptable corporate culture to maintain the company sustainable development and to enhance its competitiveness in the market.This essay consists of two parts. Firstly an analysis of the current situation of chongqing Unicom's corporate culture. And secondly it covers some possible suggestions on how to improve the corporate culture with the application of some relevant theories.The writer personally thinks that Chongqing Unicom may take 'credibility ' as it's core value to replace the current focus on 'competition'. Competition could not be avoidable in today's market nor can be transferred with customer's perception. Therefore the company should try every means possible to be honest to its employee, to its corporate, to its customer, to its shareholder and to the society. In doing so, the company will be able to create its competitive advantage over its competitors which is the common goal for all Chongqing Unicom people.
