Sino-Soviet Debate Review

The Sino-Soviet debate, which happened from the March of 1956 to March of 1966 and from fierce to ice-cold situation, lasted ten years. The Sino-Soviet two parties worsened from the initial divergent until finally the Sino-Soviet relations broke. Though two Sino-Soviet parties have made some efforts, they fail to prevent the break-up of the Sino-Soviet relation finally.In the middle of the fierce debate, two Sino-Soviet parties have proposed a series of arguments, some of arguments were biased because of the influence of historical situation at that time, some arguments may also cause controversies, and history will make the conclusion finally. The Sino-Soviet debate which lasted 10 years, caused the overall face-off and confrontation of Sino-Soviet relation from the friendly cooperation, caused the large division of the international communist movement, and had a direct and far-reaching impact on the economic and social development of two countries, on the development of the political situation in China, and on the international communist movement as well. It not only had active significance but also some negative consequence. Sino-Soviet debate was a struggle of control and counter-control between countries, and was a dispute of orthodox " about Marxism-Leninism in ideology too. It is of great significance for thorough analysis of the historical process of Sino-Soviet debate, correctly grasping the current era characteristic, understanding socialist variety and difference in the world, and for taking the socialist road of the distinct Chinese characteristics unswervingly to analyze the causes of this debate and sumarize the experiences and lessons from it.
