The Study On The Village Committee Election Of S Town In Guangdong Province

After exploration and practicing for more than 20 years, the implementing of electing institutionfor the villagers' committee in China has already made a remarkable achievement. However,democratic construction is not an easy work in such a country ruled by king for thousands ofyears, with 1.3 billion people and an unbalanced regional economy. There is a long way to go ifwe want to accomplish the mission of democratic construction. Analyzing these conditionsscientifically and critically is a necessity of promoting villagers' autonomy. And it is also anindispensable precondition in order to accomplish villager's democracy.This text is based on autonomy theory and villagers' autonomy theory. Methods of documentconsulting, questionnaire investigation, data analysis and deepening interviews have been used toanalyze the problems of two villages in Huizhou, Guangdong Province. After finding out thereasons of some outstanding phenomena, such as bribing, villager's indifference to election,weak propagating and ignoring voting right, a serial of suggestions are expatiated to solve theseproblems. A harmonious condition could be created by ways of constituting an election law forvillagers' committee, relieving peasants' economy burden, strengthen media propagating and soon.
