The Relationship Research On The Local Government Behavior And Regional Competitiveness

Economic globalization does not provide a balanced state for the planet.On the contrary,competitiveness gaps between different areas are becoming increasingly large.In a large country such as China,within the economic process of taking-off and transition,the phenomenon of the competitiveness gaps between various regions is similarly prevailing nationwide.As one of the most important economic centers in China,Guangdong Province is experiencing a constant growth of competitiveness with the biggest regional total economic output in the nation.All these achievements are inseparable with the Guangdong Provincial Government behaviors.Through the analysis of the Guangdong Provincial Government and its regional competitiveness, we can not only further enhance the competitiveness of Guangdong Province,but also help other less-developed areas.With the help of the theory of government behavior with regional competitiveness theory,this dissertation takes the relationship between the government behavior and the various factors of regional competitiveness as one entry point.In order to further study the phenomenon of the competitiveness of one region, we conduct researches on the regional govemment behavior mechanisms,its force size and relevance degree,so that we can explain and build one theoretical system. Based on that,the competitiveness reality of Guangdong from 1997 to 2006 is being used as an example of empirical research with the focus on the correlation and relationship between the Guangdong Provincial Government behaviors and the competitiveness enhancement.As the necessary theoretical basis and reference it can be helpful for less-developed regions' governments since it introduces relevant policy recommendations to improve its regional competitiveness.
