The Strategic Study On Sino-American-Russian Triangular Relationship In Early 21^st Century

Owing to its economic strength, international political influence, military preponderance, cultural appeal and leading edge in science and technology, the United States is indisputably a second to none in today's world. While its over-all national strength has declined drastically following the disintegration of the Soviet Union, Russia, its heir, remains a major player both geopolitically and internationally. With its gradual recovery from the repercussions, Russia is bound to exert more influence in the international arena. The largest developing country, China now finds itself a hot topic centering on the rise of China. Its economic influence is beginning to make itself felt both regionally and globally. Consequently, it is inevitable that its mounting over-all national strength will give rise to a regional power center dominated by China. This, in due course, will bring shock to the current international power structure.The uniqueness of the three countries United States, Russia and china is obvious, while the mutual benefit relations among them are very complicated. In this basis, the Sino-American-Russian triangular relationship in the early 21st century is characterized with strategic triangle relationship, and the role of this triangular relationship will gradually rise in the Asia-Pacific region and even the whole world. In this paper, the author tries to use the strategic triangle theory based on the national interest standpoint, focusing on analysis of the Sino-American-Russian triangular mutual relationship. The analysis consists of four parts: the state interests, the balance of power, mutual views and the impact of international mechanisms. Then we summing up the characteristic of the Sino-American-Russian triangular relationship at the beginning of 21st century, we also put forward our proposals on Chinese foreign policy. In the early 21st century the strategic position of the Central Asia has sharply raised, which will be a good case for researching on the Sino-American-Russian triangular relationship.
